By Laura Craft

Rachel Happe strives to bring connection, joy, and trust to workplaces by designing community-centric organizations and cultures that empower employees and customers.

Rachel has a unique ability to understand, simplify, and align strategy, operations, and tactics in ways that increase the connection, coherence, and effectiveness of complex environments. Her understanding of complex adaptive social systems allows her to craft governance that feels like a trellis instead of a cage, helping organizations flourish.

Rachel founded Engaged Organizations in 2021 to collaborate with select clients to transform organizations. In 2009, she co-founded The Community Roundtable and published over a decade of groundbreaking annual research, The State of Community Management, documenting effective community strategy, governance, and operations. Rachel created the first online community management training courses. Her clients have included BASF, Steelcase, AAAS, EA, Microsoft, Hilti, Aspen Institute, PWC, Thornton Tomasetti, BCG, the Canadian Medical Association, and the World Bank Group.

Rachel is a sought-after speaker and has presented at Higher Logic’s Super Forum, Enterprise 2.0, DeFrag, Harvard’s Kennedy School, JiveWorld, Inbound, APQC, J. Boye, and IBM Connect.
